Dissemination and Communication
The Dissemination and Communication Core is dedicated to dissemination in order to effectively inform our professional colleagues, policy makers, patients, and the public of our research findings.

CORE MISSION

• Promote awareness about CARG and its offerings
• Build engagement among researchers who expressed interest in studying cancer and aging
• Build capacity to communicate importance of cancer and aging research to stakeholders, policymakers, and general public
• Recruit new investigators to field of cancer and aging research
• Engage individual institutions and national organizations critical to CARG’s sustainability
• Reframe how broader oncology world views aging and scientific/clinical opportunities, and needs associated with care of older adults

CORE FUNCTION

• Publicizing work of current CARG leaders and CARG members on committees and task forces in associated organizations within clinical oncology
• Promote opportunities for aging research within CARG with emphasis on integration of early career investigators into existing initiatives
• Prioritize dissemination of aging research-related publications in high impact journals
• Develop training and tools (such as guides for poster design, slide presentations, quick start guides for social media) to help developing investigators build communication skills
• Help CARG scholars communicate research findings to leadership at their institutions to disseminate results through institutional media relations and communications offices
• Play active role in using communications through framework tools to promote CARG’s strategy with private and public funders and policy makers to create in-depth understanding of CARG’s work.
